KITE – An Act of Sindh Parliament

On September 29, 2016, the Sindh Provincial Assembly passed KITE – Karachi Institute of Technology and Entrepreneurship Act, 2015, Sindh Act No.XXV of 2016. This Act of Sindh parliament, customized and precisely according to KITE’s mission requirements, establishes KITE as an autonomous, perpetual, degree granting, higher education academic institution with an explicit mission of promoting an ecosystem of interdisciplinary education, applied knowledge and entrepreneurship. KITE is the first and only degree awarding institution in the entire country wholly dedicated to the mission of crafting entrepreneurs and building the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the city. Many more unique features of KITE, enabled by this act of parliament, will be revealed in due time.

Sindh Higher Education Commission Recognition

On October 3, 2017, KITE received a formal notification by the Sindh Higher Education Commission recognizing all degrees and transcripts issued by KITE.

Ranking by Charter Inspection and Evaluation Committee, Sindh HEC for 2016-2018 period.

KITE formally receives a ranking from Sindh HEC and is published on their website.

Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan Recognition

The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan is an independent, autonomous, and constitutionally established institution of primary funding, overseeing, regulating, and accrediting the higher education efforts in Pakistan.

Since 2013 up until 2016, KITE has been an affiliate college of Karachi University and an HEC recognized Institution. Please check page 76 of HEC’s official list.

KITE is chartered and affiliated from Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.

Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners (PCATP)

KITE has received Provisional NOC from PCATP.

Other Accreditations

KITE’s management team is continuously looking at various other program accreditation bodies to ensure the highest quality of education for all its students. We do this to provide comfort to the parents and to the students, and to ensure smooth entrepreneurial, graduate school and/or career options for our graduates.
