A two day event is being organized by the Arts Department of Karachi University in collaboration with Karachi Institute of Technology & Entrepreneurship (KITE), at the Karachi University Arts Auditorium on January 23rd and 24th, 2014. The two day conference will focus on the challenges and hurdles faced by the social sciences discipline and faculty, while teaching the students of today, in the digital age, where our audience, students and masses are more aware of their environment and have different mediums of voicing out their opinions and concerns.
The keynote speaker at the conference is Dr. James Witte, Professor and Director for the Center for Social Science Research at George Mason University, Virginia, USA. The initial panel discussion during the day discusses the emerging issues faced in Research by the Social Science faculty and department in Pakistan.
While the second talks more on a positive note discussing and highlighting the new initiatives taken by members of the social sciences department to teach these subjects with diligence and creating responsible citizens of Pakistan.
