De-mystifying Crowdfunding with GIST and the U.S. Consulate General, Karachi
KITE in conjunction with the U.S. Consulate General in Karachi hosted a webinar being broadcast live through the GIST initiative. GIST is the result of a partnership between the U.S. Department of State and CRDF Global. The GIST initiative builds entrepreneurial ecosystems in 54 countries across the Middle East, Turkey, Asia and Africa by identifying, coaching, and funding the most promising technology entrepreneurs through its flagship competitions, startup acceleration services, online social media platform and interactive mentorship programs. GIST forges partnerships, locally and globally, among technology entrepreneurs, angel investors, mentors and experts, to foster human progress and prosperity.
The webinar hosted on the 29th of January through GIST’s interactive video conference platform, GIST Techconnect, highlighted the growing importance of crowdfunding for startup ventures, not only in America but across the world. Participants were allowed to ask 4 panelists, experts and pioneers in the field of crowdfunding, questions with regards to their own goals and aspirations and whether crowdfunding could help in realizing them. Specific and locally relevant advice was provided to participants.
KITE intends to host another GIST Techconnect webinar on the 2nd of April, 2014.
